The following are the eligibility conditions for availing e-Visa services as specified by the Government of India:

i. Country Eligibility

Nationals of countries listed on the official e-Visa website indianvisaonline.gov.in are eligible to apply for e-Visa services. The e-Visa facility is available to nationals of over 166 countries/territories.

ii. Purpose of Visit

Foreigners whose sole objective for visiting India falls under any of the following purposes are eligible:

• ✓ Recreation & sightseeing
• ✓ Casual visit to meet friends/relatives
• ✓ Short-term yoga programme
• ✓ Short-term courses (language, music, dance, cooking etc. — max 6 months)
• ✓ Voluntary work (max 1 month, unpaid)
• ✓ Medical treatment (incl. Indian systems of medicine)
• ✓ Attendant to e-Medical Visa holder
• ✓ Business purpose
• ✓ Attending conference/seminar/workshop (organized by Govt. of India or private)

iii. NOT Eligible For eVisa

• ⛔ Employment purposes — must apply for regular Employment Visa
• ⛔ NGO activities & journalism purposes
• ⛔ Pakistan nationals (must apply for regular visa at Indian Embassy)
• ⛔ Holders of Pakistani origin passports (even from other countries)

iv. Other Important Conditions

• • Applicant must hold a valid ordinary passport with at least 6 months validity from the date of arrival in India.
• • Applicant must have a return/onward journey ticket and sufficient funds for the stay.
• • Applicant must have a valid email address and a debit/credit card for fee payment.
• • eVisa is non-transferable and valid for a single traveller only.
• • Nationals of Yellow Fever affected countries must carry a Yellow Fever Vaccination Card on arrival.
• • eVisa fee once submitted is non-refundable, even if the application is rejected.
• • You must travel on the same passport on which the eVisa was issued.
